Three Reasons to Unite...

    For Those We've Lost

THEIR LEGACIES WILL ENDURE...We acknowledge the legacy of those who were impacted by COVID19 the most. To the ones who will forever be evidence of this challenging time in our history. To those whose absence will be felt for generations to come.

    For You

YOU ARE NOT ALONE...Remember, one name represents the hearts of many. Though our grief may appear different, we are intentional in building this space to show that we are here with you! Our culture, our voices, our stories, our experiences, are...ours to preserve, together.

    For Us

WE ARE CREATING SPACE TOGETHER...We offer this space, the art, stories, and support as cultural libation poured into this world, as a ritual of remembrance. We know this space will change, as too will our lives. May we collectively grieve, care, and heal in ways that honor their collective contribution to the world.

Dr. Jasmine Ward conceived the idea to create and share a digital memorial of reverence dedicated to the Black community going through and looking back on COVID19 pandemic. She found support from the women you see here and others who affirmed this space. Together, these ladies are volunteering time to organize and mobilize the community in an effort to develop United Memories.

TRUTHTELLERWe are interested in sharing this moment in truth. Whatever the moment is for you. Because truth is necessary...the lens in which we see, the context in which we feel, the things we have access to, the things we've been deniedThe lives we live. The faces we remember. The names we do not know. Truth, is honest,Truth, is scary,Truth, is brave, Truth, hurts...We bear witness to truths and are evidence of her...

We stand together to tell our stories and those of our blood. In acknowledgment of our presence, and resolution "they were here". In proclamation that we, they, will always remain.Truth is proof of what is birthed, given life and value. Truth is healing,Truth is love, Truth is who tells her...Truthteller.By: Dr. Jasmine Ward
