Truth-tellers
Dr. Jasmine Ward conceived the idea to create and share a digital memorial of reverence dedicated to the Black community going through and looking back on COVID19 pandemic. She found support from the women you see here and others who affirmed this space. Together, these ladies are volunteering time to organize and mobilize the community in an effort to develop United Memories.
TRUTHTELLERWe are interested in sharing this moment in truth. Whatever the moment is for you. Because truth is necessary...the lens in which we see, the context in which we feel, the things we have access to, the things we've been deniedThe lives we live. The faces we remember. The names we do not know. Truth, is honest,Truth, is scary,Truth, is brave, Truth, hurts...We bear witness to truths and are evidence of her...
We stand together to tell our stories and those of our blood. In acknowledgment of our presence, and resolution "they were here". In proclamation that we, they, will always remain.Truth is proof of what is birthed, given life and value. Truth is healing,Truth is love, Truth is who tells her...Truthteller.By: Dr. Jasmine Ward
